ALCHEMIST

It’s your magical power, I suppose,
altering my substance to great value—
Renaissance philosophy you propose
in golden language describing how you
ascend to an enchanting place. You speak
of love. I melt within an elixir
prolonging life, aspire and reach gold peak
where you and I seek power’s source: texture
of spirit we’ve wakened to.  Coelho—
his shepherd boy searching for Personal
Legend—encounters love through writing. So
do his characters through seeking. We call
out to them, wish them well. They tell who hid,
and where, treasure in Giza’s Pyramids.
