I write you this because we understand
each other. I write you this because we
both sense our eternal thread, precious strands
plaited and stretched to connect all. I see
this clearer than you, only because I’ve
been blessed with time to kneel closer, define
each fiber and how it entwines our lives.
You see it too, from your distance, fine lines
separating our vision, space measured
by depth of our fear to surrender, gift
of faith following our fall. I’ve treasured
you from first sight. Just why would spirit lift
us here, grace me with your presence, your plight
and mine in plain view? Look there. See the light.
