ALL ABOUT YOU

You possess classic beauty, a true gift.
Your daughter shares your magic gift: double
blessing. Yet you might give your friend a lift
of spirit: a message. How much trouble
is it to write a simple sentence: I’m
spending Sunday with her. After all, you
said, I’ll let you know tomorrow. No crime
to follow through, you know. I know it’s true:
how fear consumes you now. I also know
faith and action will see you through. It has
so far, us two. Out my writing window,
I see tree-green, sky-blue. This, too, shall pass
to something new: ebony and starlight,
joining your glowing image through the night.
